This is what I learnt from my supervisor lately. I knew that recently my research mood was saturated. And suddenly, there were many things incompleted. I started worrying those things. My supervisor said it is normal in research. To get back into the track needs effort, and perhaps we have to admit that the progress is so slow.It's useless to worry what haven't done, and it's better to see what reachable thing needed to be finished.

I got two papers accepted. hurray (sakarstik tone). One for a conference in India and one for a conference in Canberra. I won't go to India as I'll save my only one grant to spend it for Europa (fingers crossed). But, I'll go to Canberra. I hope this person has been there by the time I go. Okay that's the good news, what's the bad one? Well, I got praises on the paper for conference in India, so no feedbacks at all apparently. On the other hand, I got sooo many comments on the other paper. Goodluck Arnold! yea yea... pray for me.. I'm still thinking how to address them in a proper way but without stepping the deadline. Here is the papers.

When tidying up my storage on the last weekend, I accidentally found my old undergrad archives. Well, it's quite surprising so many things I made. Especially, I just realised that I wrote code for helping me to understand polar coordinate (Hell yes, I did some coding stuff in Calculus course). Motivated by a willingness to share with others, I post my polar coordinate plotter.

Started with rainy and stormy days, cooling down temperature, low humidity. Winter is coming to town! Now I can sleep without getting sweating. But the problem is, it's getting colder and colder in every morning which bother me to take a shower.

Right, what was happened after my confirmation seminar has over? Many things actually. I got some people visited me for a week on the day after the confirmation. Had fun in Australia Zoo, Gold Coast. Also, I did volunteering in Heroes Happens event (That was one of Microsoft events). And now, I'm preparing for a speaking engagement in a QUT-wide Microsoft event. My research? Still on going. Still waiting for the big thing from my supervisor. Meanwhile, I'm writing some codes assisting me in the experiment.

At last, after having a very long seminar (50-min presentation) I finished it. Yupe, all of my two-month effort has been paid two days ago, when the panels said that I did a good job. Well, although I was quite disappointed by myself which didn't do well in the presentation part, but that's why they call PhD as a research apprentice.

I had not many questions. The questions were around my research direction and boundary. I was expecting that someone could give some valuable feedbacks on my method. But, it didn't happen. Well, regarding to research direction, I got some good feedbacks I guess. Specifically, now, I have to consider seriously for my case studies, and start very soon, or otherwise I'll be trapped in this crazy course (never get a thesis done).

Just had a meeting with my principal supervisor this afternoon. He mentioned something subtlety defined. Let say A be my supervisor, and B be Arnold.

A: Arnold, there is something different between urgent matters and important matters
B: ??
A: Your confirmation seminar is urgent because you have to do it soon, but not as important as your research.
B: So, you mean I have to set my research as the first priority?
A: Do your confirmation since it's urgent, but don't ignore your research.

Okay, now I know. Urgent matters are not always important, and important matters should not be ignored. What a wise advice.
